The Stream system, unveiled at a grand opening recently by Marshall Homes, Clean Energy Developments and the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition (CGC), uses free, renewable heat energy from the sun and below ground to power a home's heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as meeting
its domestic hot water needs.

The mixing valve shown in Figure 5.8 and Figure 5.9 is required for when the solar pre-heated
water is too
hot for delivery to the
domestic taps, and when the storage tank temperature
needs to be high for space heating applications.
The system of Figure 5.9 also has the advantage of being easily adapted to combination space and
domestic hot water heating applications as shown in Figure 5.2 In that configuration, the storage tank
needs to have 2 additional side ports available for the pumped loop to the
hot water coil in the space heating process air stream.
We heat
domestic hot water with the sun and heat the house with wood and are prepared to use wood for cooking (two wood cook stoves) if
needed.
