Taub also reiterated his motivation for referring
patients to Silver was born out of a desire to convince Weitz & Luxenberg to begin
donating to
cancer research — specifically his mesothelioma research center — and that it was only after his referrals came that he was advised
by a mutual acquaintance that he write Silver about state funding.
