It is therefore quite significant that a recent article by Bultmann seems to be by implication a
defence of Ksemarm's position against an initial criticism by the Barthian Hermann Diem: Diem had maintained that when all is said and
done Käsemann has presented Jesus as only proclaiming «general religious and moral truths»
about «the freedom of the children of God», rather than a message in continuity with the Church's kerygma.
I'm really undecided
about Cazorla because he sometimes plays so well buthe isn't consistent at all, he doesn't provide width or pace or work very hard in
defence so he shouldn't be guaranteed a starting spot.
One of the attributes which is so important to his game that no one talks
about is that he's unbelievably good at winning headers, which takes pressure off the
defence as much as everything else he
does.
I
du n no what to say... All English players in our team are useless, walcott only cares
about the money I couldn't even see Walcott both in attack and
defence We could have gone 5 pts clear of City for God's sake... stoke match is now a must win...
all top clubs have excellent back ups but wenger wont
do anything
about that as he didn't with the CDM position or the
defence until the season was lost.its the way he is.
Not sure
about that really... only thing Welbs can (i hope im wrong)
do with his energy and running around the box is to disrupt his own team mates.Facing organised
defence where players know what they are
doing he can
do s ## t.
This is simple a very intelligent child can solve this problem.Firstly today our keeper was very poor however i know he will come good.By the way why is Paulista no getting his chance. What i have observed
about arsenal since we signed Mertesacker from day one and since he started playing is that Mertesacker hardly gets involved you will usually see him a few times because he
does not want to get caught out.e has always been a weak link in the
defence even in his greatest performances here. When i see us playing with a high line and he is there i always laugh. It is just a mistake waiting to happen and i can tell u that it will happen again this season.Secondly why is Ramsey Cazorla and Ozil playing in the same line - up in a 4 -5-1 formation. That is just not right though it will win you some matches due to individual brilliance. It wont work at all.Lastly the least i say
about Giroud the better i am not judging him on one game. One would imagine if he was not french and like chinese will he be getting these chances under Wenger. To me he will always be an average player and i will stand by my word even if he has good games.
And above all, we STILL have
done NOTHING
about our awful
defence, lack of any DM and kept the fast regressing Cech as first choice keeper.

about Arsenal strikers coming and going Blah blah, but I think I can honestly say once again that Wenger should be
doing something
about our ageing comical
defence, who regularly make schoolboy errors and gift goals to our opponents.

about defence, Chicago is under a new coach, and the Lions are very well inconsistent.
Incidents like his failure to track back and give any help to the
defence in the buiold up to the contentious penalty awarded against Hector Bellerin at Watford on Saturday
do not help the German, though, and only make it easier to believe the report by Metro that people at Arsenal are becoming very concerned
about Ozil.
I still don't see how he is a super sub. He's labelled as a super sub just because of this season. Those matches when he scored he was supposed to be played because we needed an aerial presence.A lot of those matches had he started we could've won because we needed aerial presence. But the thing is that his abilities don't suit him as a super sub.I mean he holds up the ball well and is great in the air and that's just
about it.He's actually the one one who needs service and who needs players around him to open up
defences for him to receive the pass and not vice versa.Super subs actually provide they are not the one's to be provided for.In Giroud's case he was supposed to start in those in matches as Sanchez was not up to the task in aerial battles.Giroud will not be able to affect a match if the opponents are as good in the air.
Given the problems we have had in
defence this season, and the age of best back line, what
do we think
about Wenger not getting in a defender in January, or
do you think he may have a surprise up his sleeve?
The Frenchman
did finally strengthen the areas of
defence and attack that most people thought he needed to but it was all a bit last minute and the former United and England striker Andy Cole feels that Wenger is very stubborn
about doing what other people say he needs to and that this trait of our manager is costing Arsenal the chance of becoming champions of England once again.
Ramsey and Wilshere didn't see much of the ball, and it was largely
about counter-attacking from the Gunners, who tried immensely to press Besiktas's
defence and midfield, and reaped dividends for it.
Nevertheless, critics were still raise question marks
about the
defence and the squad depth in key areas, and that's where Unai Emery will have to earn his big wages to ensure that their campaign doesn't end in disappointment.
but more importantly it should tell you that wenger no longer has a grasp on the strengths and weaknesses of his team, or, indeed, what kind of football he is trying to play... heard a lot of people waffling on
about the end of tika tak... we never got there because too many first team players lack the skills to
do that kind of football... ramsey walcott giroud merteshaker coquelin are not that kind of player... nor
do we rapidly convert
defence in to attack as we used to or press teams in their own half..
Talking
about consistency and solid
defence is great when you don't lose a single defender, goalie, or DMF for the entire season.
lst season at stamford bridge, was the first time i saw that 4 -1-4-1 formation being used, and for some weird reason i feel a very strange negative vibe and well all know the outcome.the manager has come back with this formation and its not yielding result, but he still sticks with it.i
do nt know much
about formations dear friends, but if you are playing a slow dm in arteta and a very very slow cb, then you are toast against quality teams with sound tactics.wen playing wellbeck as a lone striker, i think 4 -2-3-1, will work better, but if we have a big player like oliver (boooos), thn we can try the 4 -1-4-1, thingy cos he can hold the ball for our midfielders to run in.but on the overall, shame on wenger for not giving our
defence a good cover DM.NO BODY PLAYS A SLOW DM / CB AND EXPECT TO B REGARDED AS CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL.IT HURTS GUYS, REALLY HURTS.
22 attempts and 8 on target... Oh please, please someone enlighten me as to why we
do nt need another CF and how Giroud is a good one when he got bullied by a 16 year old debutant who forced him to go out wide as a lone striker, That
defence too my god people were talking
about how Koscielny and Metersacker were the best pairing at Cb no were not... and today proved why there were a few times metersacker overcommited when payet was dribblng left a gaping hole in that
defence and if westhams strikers were on the ball this would have been a much larger margin.

does he keep talking
about between attack and
defence, because were poor in attack and
defence.
The thing that annoys me
about Gibbs is, he doesn't pass the ball forward only back to the player that passed to him, and he should have been on the goal line for the corner, sorry but he is the weak link in the
defence not a patch on Monreal so, we need a left back to cover Monreal send Gibbs out on loan.

about Icardi... But his goal stats are decent for a young player in Seria A's tight
defence...

do agree with Szczesny senior
about that the whole Arsenal
defence has been an embarrassment this season.
wenger needs to broaden his thinking and horizon... and think beyond sanchez, so many players can replace him, carrasaco, even baruwa (of lipstik) whom we just saw in the emirates cup, dembele etc... i just watched liverpool trash bayern... liverpool have always has a sharp attack, now their
defence seems solid... wenger is just a straight jacket, i
do nt care what others are
doing, i know it all coach and it will really hurt come begining of season, unless he prunes his pride and look over the wall at what his competitors are
doing that is strengthing the weakness and planning ahead... our midfield was weak and indeed still is... we glad
about lacazzete, but unless our
defence gives 110 all games, and we look at life beyond sanchez... we will have our fellings hurt this season
Don't know
about his
defence.
I really hope that Arsene Wenger's comments the other day
about how hard it was to find good quality players available in the January transfer window, at the same time as praising the Arsenal left back Nacho Monreal on his ability to cover at the centre of
defence does not mean that us fans are in for more frustration in the transfer market.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch
defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we
did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I
do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he
does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he
did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think
about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing
about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
But here's the thing: Wenger
does not have the players he had then (remember the story
about being able to switch
defence into attach in 6 seconds??)
How
about offering him the opportunity to explain how • Our
Defence yet again produced a Keystone Kop performance. Why
do you think this happened?
Don't understand these reports
about Mustafi being sold — we are already weak in
defence, that would be unless we get van Dijk in, who is exactly what we need, but logic often doesn't bother Wenger that much.
The
defence we have should be the best in the league, it's just that Wenger doesn't care
about defence which is odd because as a player he was a defender.
Nevertheless, what the goal will
do is raise further question marks
about their
defence.
As the January transfer window looms closer, I really hope Wenger can finally stop complaining
about his scarcity of defensive options and
about how his
defence was not solid enough and finally
do something
about it.
Why this article doesn't talk
about our
defence which has leaked 4 goals in 2 games against mid table teams.
There have been a lot of doubts from Arsenal fans and members of the football media
about why Arsene Wenger
did not strengthen the Arsenal
defence more in the summer transfer window.
UTD could have lost 6 - 3 to us if it wasn't for DDG, we didn't moan
about our def as much when we had Seaman or Man Jens in goal, those GKs knew their job and commanded the
defence.
Not his present achievements like Ozil & Sanchez etc, to be fair the reason why nobody really cares
about them is because it took him almost 6 years to late to get on the high priced players bandwagon and even when he
did, hes still trying to mix the new rules with his old dead rules by keeping people like Flamini, letting per lead the
defence without a backup and he seems to forget these players are OLD they are more susceptible to fatigue than anyone else in the squad thats why when you look at our games, after the second half its only our attackers that still look lively!
I don't understand why everyone is so worried
about our
defence, CB's don't need to be rotated at all often and Chambers has shown he can play there quite comfortably.
Mate move on... Walcott had a couple of decent crosses all game rest of time just a waste of a player... What makes me laugh is the talk of
defences fearing his pace... They don't as he doesn't actually pose a goal threat which is what defenders really worry
about....
Not very confident tonight on account of our
defence and midfielders to make it worse arsene still goes on
about quality in the squad, yeah quality alright only if you know how to get the best out of them unfortunately wenger doesn't that's why a lot of player's don't want to sign for arsenal
About time Ospina started shouting at his
defence, what the hell are we
doing?
Would love to see a DM and CB as well, but I am far from unhappy
about this transfer window, hope the
defence stays injury - free until january, then Arsenal can
do good things.
And he launched into a slightly puzzling metaphor
about being undressed — as his
defence certainly was at times by Brighton's swift counter-attacks — which seemed to mean «Don't kick a man when he is down.»
too short in
defence, too short in real dm, i don tcare
about wenger (anymore) but i hope ourArsenal
does nt suffer for this
So although Chelsea got lucky again when Hull
did not get a clear penalty to level the game, Spurs and Liverpool were frankly awful, Man City's
defence is leakier than a sieve and United still huff and puff without scoring enough, the media find things
about Arsenal to criticise.
If i was manager of arsenal first thing I would
do is make steve would take care of defending (if you remember he
did and arsenal improved so much but he got credit and then rumours
about wenger stopping him from coaching popped up and he became a quiet yes man and our
defence fell apart as usual, I'm sure you guys remember this) The next thing I would
do is make alexis captain and promise him ambition.
Henry yesterday was very good at dodging questions
about the manager, because he didn't want to insult him on public television, but he had little in his
defence too.
I think we should not fool ourselves with our
defence at the moment.we are so poor infact ill say we are average in
defence.the only guy who defends solidly is boss but unfortunately for us he to has some frequent off days where u can't count on him.bellerin has been superb for us but defensively he still has alot to learn.now debate
about mert and paulista, I don't believe any of them should be a starting 11 cb for us nxt year, mert is gud but not worldclass or even decent he is average.pauli can proove us wrong but still not worth gambling him to fail.I believe we need a cb and am certain we will buy (hehe lol).
