Foodwise, they don't cost a fortune to feed and my three
do pretty well on a
dental chew for breakfast, a main meal in the afternoon and a couple of dog biscuits, rawhide chews or something similar such as a pigs ear or a bit of paddywhack
during the day to help keep their teeth
clean.
They are in no way intended to take the place of deep
cleaning, extractions and radiographs that are all
done during anesthetic
dentals.

dental cleaning you can tell your dentist if something hurts and can position your mouth for x-rays your dog can't
do this and many react to pain by moving or biting
The primary objective is to convince the owners to sign up for all treatments (
dental, wound care, worming and vitamin injections) which is no easy feat since
dental work which includes deep teeth and gum
cleansing can take at least half an hour to hour and most owners don't want to lose that much time
during their working day.
