I was scared to use it for so long because I didn't know the ins and
outs of cast
iron but now I feel like a champ with it.
I really want to make this for a party this evening but I don't own a cast
iron skillet but would it come
out as well in a glass baking dish?
One thing I
did learn from making this over and over again is that one shouldn't use an enameled cast -
iron saucepan, which possibly holds heat too well, and the batter doesn't emulsify and smooth
out as effectively.
I didn't have any trouble with the batter (no sticking — but I made sure I had the batter super well mixed after reading the comments about sticking above, and I always use plenty of oil on the
iron) and they turned
out perfectly.
The first time I tried to make them I didn't oil it and it took ages to chip the burned pizzelle batter

Hi there... I found this recipe and had to run
out and get a cast
iron pot... however, the one I bought was a 4qt... can I
do this recipe in a 4qt or should I 1/2 the recipe??
I don't have a Le Creuset pot large enough for the recipe so I used a cast
iron pot with lid and it turned
out great.

iron pots but
do have a regular cast
iron dutch oven so i lined it with parchment paper and cooked as directed... the bread turned
out awesome.
If the thing wasn't made
out of cast
iron and didn't weigh a million pounds I could simply have tipped it over to drop
out my beautiful loaf.
Notes: if you need help on kneading bread, check
out this post — you essentially just fold it in half over and over If you don't have a cast
iron skillet, you can use a pizza stone, or just a greased baking sheet (in which case, slightly longer baking might be needed).

does that compare to red meat, often touted as the most
