I'd rather look «bulky» than «curvy» but very few people find a
marathon - runner body attractive — I couldn't care less what men
like the look of, or other women: I only aspire to have a figure that reflects the amount of effort I put into my
running (and I also
do strength train, but heavy lifters will probably laugh at me because I absolutely love Body Pump).
After
doing a bulk of my
runs solo and struggling a lot with my performance this training season, it just doesn't feel
like I've worked hard enough for the
marathon to actually be here.
Somewhere along the line a change happened and I realized that I had actually started to *
like *
running, and in 2009 I
did my first half
marathon.
Except for when I'm going to
run a
marathon, which is very unlikely for me — as I
like running but I don't seem to be a long distance runner (but who knows, right?)
You can be working out every day for 2 hours (which I strongly don't recommend), but if you don't have a great nutrition plan to go with it, it's
like running in place during a
marathon.

like athletes
running a
marathon — they all say they hit this wall where they can't go any further, but in that moment they make the conscious decision to push past it and once they
do, they break through the other side and enjoy that endorphin rush.
I was tempted to register for the race anyway, since the location is convenient, and though I don't know exactly what CARA's training plan looks
like, if it's close to Novice 1 on Hal Higdon's website, I'll only have to flip flop things by a week or so, which is definitely more ideal than
running a half
marathon and then having to continue
running to get in my long
run for the week haha).
I'm pretty sure I'd lose my job if I
ran Rock & Roll and I don't
like the timing of the Chicago Half with
marathon this year, so ZOOMA it is.
