We've considered so many options for that doorway, including walling the opening off entirely (and creating a new bedroom / bathroom
entrance), putting in a new
door there, or some combination of a building a new bathroom and
door area.
I pictured removing the
door / shelf thing so we could meander through it at the
entrance to what I hope will be a small
area with newly planted vegetable garden boxes.
Because we have a closet and a row of hooks along one wall in our mudroom / laundry room, we don't use our front
door as an
entrance at all, unless we have guests over, which means that we don't really need much storage in this
area.
Create a welcoming impression by placing a folding screen between the
entrance door and living
area.
Yes I do have a few more
areas to think about and the Dutch
door entrance is one I definitely want to consider before anything is finalized.
We do have the option of reconfiguring a bit and setting up the
area by the Dutch
door like a mudroom
entrance (possibly even a powder room in that
area).
Ramsin closed off the laundry
area and added another
door beside the powder room
entrance to make the machines accessible from the hallway.
The one spot that seems to be an ongoing
area is my sunroom as it has the main
entrance door and the garage
door.
