Spread the apples over the dough and top with a second layer of balls of dough, using all the remaining dough.

Place a thin line of apple filling one inch from the bottom roll the dough over the filling and continue rolling to seal in the filling.

Scatter apples and chopped cheese evenly over dough and roll up into a log; gather log into a ball.

Using parchment to help you, lift dough at end farthest from you and fold over apple; seal edges.

Fold the edges of the dough over each of the apple piles.

Used the pastry blender to combine the flour and chilled butter pieces, then poured the flour / butter mixture over the egg / cream / cheese / apple mixture and used a dough whisk to mix until just incorporated.

To get my kids excited about fall (and back - to - school), I put together this apple cloud dough activity bin for them to play with over the weekend.

Why can't you just put the apples in one half of the dough, and just fold it back over the placed apples and seal it shut?

If you have enough dough left over you can also cut out some cute little leaves and add a stem to the apple.
