Most Nexus devices before the Nexus 6 all featured the
volume rocker on the
left side and power button
on the right, meaning you could take a screenshot with one hand by holding
down the power and
volume down buttons at the same time.
On the
left side (when the tablet is held in landscape mode) sit a power button, up /
down volume rocker, a screen rotation lock switch, and a microSD card reader.
On the right side of the PLAY you'll find
left and right trigger buttons with a
volume up and
down rocker placed in between them.
The power button is located about a third of the way
down the right side, while the
volume rocker and Active key are located in a similar spot
on the
left edge.
Volume and channel controls come in the form of
rocker switches, while basic cursor controls (up,
down,
left, right, enter) are available to navigate
on - screen controls and menus.
The sheer size of the Galaxy Note 3 means you'll be constantly shuffling it up and
down your palm as you try and reach the
volume rocker and power / lock keys located towards the top
on the
left and right sides of the handset and the menu keys below the screen.
Though you'll have to shuffle your hand up and
down the phone to get at the
volume rocker on the right and power button
on the
left, the 8XT is a very holdable phone, just like its predecessor.
Up top there's a headphone jack and an easy to hit power / lock key, while
down the
left hand side is a
volume rocker key with a microUSB port located
on the base of the Blade 3.
In keeping with the tenets of good design, the jagged edges that cross the XB10's top are also functional, separating four
rocker - switches including
volume up and
down buttons
on the right side, and Bluetooth pairing and play / pause buttons
on the
left.
