The owners wanted to extend the spare bedroom outwards to create a bigger area, and
the downstairs kitchen needed to be extended, too, as the existing one was just a gallery style and only big enough for one person to use at a time.

I'd like to stay where we are but I would like to have the
downstairs bathroom upstairs, to where my son's room is.Have his room moved into the attic and remodel the
kitchen as we have a second toilet and an old mouldy pantry that
needs knocking down.
Since it is a pain in the butt to travel back and forth from areas (upstairs /
downstairs) as a unit, try to bring everything you
need to get everyone dressed into the
kitchen / dining area when you bring the children in for breakfast.

And I could tell you a whole long story about how this green carpet went up the stairs and down the hallway towards the bedrooms but the bedrooms have neutral carpet that didn't
need replacing and that the green carpet was also in the office, living room and dining room but we have hardwood floors in the
kitchen, slate in the entry / hallway /
downstairs bathroom / laundry room and fairly new carpet in the family room meaning our home essentially had flooring schizophrenia and I just couldn't figure out how to make the most of our budget and still get the look I wanted.
The
kitchen becomes a dumping ground, plus it's right next to the door to the basement so I'll pile things up that
need to go
downstairs.
The living room, master bedroom,
downstairs bedroom and family room,
kitchen still
need to be painted but some of them have vaulted ceilings which I am not ready to tackle with my 5» 2 ″ stature.
