Employers should
draft their narrative carefully to set out their
gender pay gap «story» - including early in the narrative key explanations for any
gender pay gap and steps they are taking to narrow it.
There was however some respite for employers with the announcement of a delay in the implementation of the
draft Equality Act 2010 (
Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2016.
The Equal
Pay Coalition has also recently filed its brief,
drafted by Jan Borowy and Mary Cornish, on the
gender wage
gap for Ontario's Changing Workplace Review of its labour and employment standards legislation.
