The title of this exhibition and works in it also are inspired by
drag queen culture (several of the titles in the exhibition are names of types of drag performances and terms from LGBTQ ballroom culture, famously captured in the 1990 documentary film Paris is Burning.)
Embracing the appropriative stereotypes of femininity in
drag queen culture as a place of comfort rather than exploitation, Rauth's goal is to establish power and strength in her own femininity through constructed identity and question the surprisingly narrow mindset of gender inclusivity in mainstream drag.
