I have never seen him scoot his butt on the carpet like some dogs do when they're having trouble
draining the anal sac.
These dogs are constantly
draining anal sac fluid and leaving a foul - smelling drop wherever they have been.
Anal sac inflammation is common in small dogs, such as Dachshunds, Poodles and Chihuahuas, perhaps because the ducts
draining their anal sacs are very tiny and easily obstructed with inflammation.
Occasionally, the small ducts which
drain the anal sacs become clogged with this thick secretion.
