Rather than the more abstract approach that the thematically similar That Dragon, Cancer takes when dealing with themes of loss and remembrance, Fragments of Him elects to weave more conventionally structured tale; the monochrome tint of its characters and environments being much more similar to more traditional fare than
the dreamlike aperture of the former.
