Budnik does yeoman work in a challenging part, neither sinking into generic
drear nor reaching for specious histrionics, and the surrounding ensemble likewise succeeds in putting us in touch with a community spirit.
It's a rapturous mix of absurdly fairy - tale - romance and frantic modern complications, set in the picturesque
drear of Yorkshire and brought to life by masterfully shaded performances.
