I definitely don't think that's in style... looks odd and
too many
patterns with those shoes and the
dress together.

pattern is
too nice and, because the
dress is so thick, it is super cosy.

I ordered this off - shoulder long
dress because I don't have
too many similar style in my closet yet, not to mention the cute polka dot
pattern really hits my heart.
After a few teething problems of learning how to use a Japanese
Pattern Book, this
dress and the collar blouse I also made (ed — post soon) have worked out so well that I'm encouraged to make everything before daughter grows up
too much and I have to grade the
patterns (she's already on the biggest size).
I love the belt here,
too because it cinches the waist nicely and adds a little something extra to the bold
pattern of the
dress.
Out of curiosity, I will put a top over the
dress to see if perhaps it's just *
too much * colour and
pattern for my frame, although I'm pretty sure I won't remake it into a top and skirt...
too much work with the zipper and lining.

I first bought a button down top in this
pattern and fell so in love, when I saw it came in a
dress too, I had to have it.

too blocky, I like the almost speckled
pattern it really makes the
dress subtle.

I picked white, black and navy as my neutrals, making sure I had basic pieces in these colours (
dresses, shorts, skirts) and then added bright pink and electric blue as accent colours (shoes, scarves, purse, jewlery — or they played a role in the fabric
patterns of my clothes... Oh and I may have had a pair of bright pink shorts in there
too!)
The Not So Good: It's tough to say anything
too negative about this
dress, but I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of the
pattern - the flowers contrast sharply with the black.
Oops, I might be
too late, but I thought I'd share my
too many favorite skirts anyway:) My top 3: a full skirt with a white background but huge floral explosions — I had fallen in love with an insanely expensive
dress in a similar
pattern, then stumbled upon the inexpensive skirt and was sold.
I love this look from the 1950's and I even have a
pattern to create a
dress with a skirt this full, but I'm
too scared to use it!

pattern;
too large a print can overpower,
too small looks fussy and will blend into the background.
