I didn't change a single thing about the
recipe other than cutting 12 slabs instead of 8 which I
do recommend and omitting the oil from the
dressing which didn't seem to affect it whatsoever.

do) there's a fine one with a jalapeno buttermilk
dressing within that we pretty much inhaled with our carnitas.

do you add to your
recipe to make a
dressing?
The
recipe as written below will give you more sauce than you need, and I
did that intentionally — it makes a GREAT salad
dressing and / or veggie dip!
I swapped out the veggies for what I had on hand (which you can totally
do too if you don't have the exact ones I used in this
recipe), I changed the chicken for tempeh, and made my own balsamic
dressing.
I couldn't find an Asian salad
dressing that was vegan / gluten free, so I
did some research and found a
recipe on Food.com, adjusted the ingredients to what I had on hand and made up my own!
We especially like this Authentic German Potato Salad
recipe for picnics because the
dressing is vinegar based, so you don't have to worry as much about keeping it chilled like you would with a mayonnaise based
dressing.
I didn't have the
recipe called up when I was putting the
dressing together so I winged it from what I could remember.
Maybe I saw too many
recipes that use mayonaise and I just don't love mayo - based
dressings (except for my cole slaw
dressing).

What a great tip in this
recipe to microwave the blue cheese for a few seconds (30 seconds worked for me, didn't need the full 60 of the
recipe) to soften it to make whisking together all the
dressing ingredients easier.

Just a quick note for those wondering about colatura — I've always made ceaser
dressing from scratch because it was what my mother
did and the stuff you buy isn't anywhere near as good and this
recipe is very, very close to how she makes it (she doubles the garlic, uses anchovy paste for fillets, and uses all lemon juice instead of combining it with red wine vinegar).

I was so excited about everything I didn't get a good picture of some of the foods I wanted to share with you (especially the cornbread
dressing, I love the
recipe but unfortunately didn't take a picture!)
I suppose that is what makes this
recipe so fun... you can
dress it up but you certainly don't need to!
I found mine to be really salty, looking at the
recipe I used the whole pack of ranch
dressing, but
did not check to see if a whole pack is 1oz or not, I was figuring it was the franks that made it overly salty, will make again but maybe try a different wing sauce and skip out on the ranch all together, not sure what caused the saltiness.
This
dressing recipe is written for using the grill to roast the ingredients but I
do have instructions for how to
do it in the oven.
Since there was no salt added to the
recipe, I would suggest that you check your wing sauce before adding it (also, I don't know if there's a lower sodium ranch
dressing packet out there).
Combine the pork with your desired sauce (
recipes below) until moist and lightly
dressed — you don't want to overwhelm the pork flavor, and you can serve extra on the side for dipping as desired.
I
