This recipe uses a whole coconut, but I'll do another post that uses
dried coconut instead at some point.

I made these today but had to substitute a few ingredients as I didn't have everything — I used
dried prunes
instead of dates, chopped almonds and hazelnuts
instead of the sunflower seeds and vegetable oil

instead of water) 1 tablespoon minced ginger (make your own at home) 3 — 4 cups water 1/2 cup canned

I added in 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder with the
dry ingredients to make this more chocolatey and used canola oil
instead of
coconut oil, then when I made it I put the mixture into muffin cups and pressed down as hard as I could with a spoon.
(very professional looking) I had to make a couple of substitutions based on what I had on hand (I used peanut butter
instead of almond butter, unsweetendd flake
coconut for the
dried fruit, and plain gluteen free crisp rice ceral) and they turned out AMAZING!
The batter is usually
dry when
coconut flour is used
instead of almond flour in this recipe: --RRB-
I also used
dried dates
instead of date paste and red boat fish sauce
instead of
coconut aminos, but it tastes great.
I made these with raw cashews (added a dash of salt), cold butter
instead of
coconut oil (I cut this into the
dry ingredients) and frozen blueberries (had to add about 10 minutes to the baking time).
I prefer to make press - in cookie - type crusts (or sometimes I use nuts,
dried fruit, and maybe some unsweetened
coconut flakes
instead for a healthier option).
I have to try this while asparagus are in season... Have you tried fresh (or frozen) grated
coconut instead of the
dried stuff?
Because I am on a diet currently I used
coconut oil
instead of butter (I would have tried applesauce, but can't do apples right now) and molasses in stead of brown sugar, no changes in
dry ingredients out of curiosity.

coconut instead of measuring it, and used
dried coconut chips from sprouts (more like shaved
coconut pieces).

My kids, sadly, don't like
coconut or raisins, so I used oatmeal and

Wet milling extracts the oil from fresh moist
coconut meat
instead of
dried coconut, and it is a traditionally accepted method that does not destroy the oil's nutritional qualities.

Hi Alex loved the recipe idea used 1 cup of almonds and 1cup ofwalnuts
instead of pecans added linseed, sunflower seeds pumpkin seeds and unsweetened
coconut flakes to make up the bulk of the nuts and 1 cup of dates + half a cup of
dried figs all other ingredients & measurements were the same just out of the oven haven't tasted them yet hope they are as nice as yours seem 2b Alex
I sifted the
dry ingredients because I only had a 9 × 9 pan and so wanted to create volume LOL; 2) no soy milk — > used 1/2 full - fat
coconut milk (canned) and 1/2 water; 3) no maple syrup — > mixed brown sugar and water together until they made a similar consistency; 4) used xylitol
instead of
coconut sugar; 5) used 100 % cacao unsweetened chips.; 6) added 1/2 cu or so of chopped walnuts, again, to create more volume since I had the wrong - sized pan.
Instead of oats and flour I have used
dried coconut, buckwheat and brown rice flour.
So any recipe that you find on this website that calls for
dried coconut, you can use
coconut butter
instead.

I had the same question about the sugar — I used
coconut sugar

You can soak the
dried fruit in some brandy / rum / whiskey and no one is missing out on the booze either To make it dairy free I have used
coconut milk
instead of cream.
Instead of chocolate pudding, you can also roll in strawberry flavored apple sauce then shredded
coconut, OR almond butter then roll in finely minced
dried fruit.
KRISTEN STRATTON: Sometimes if it is just too hot and maybe it's not cracked or anything but enough that I don't want to put anything on it to hold the moisture against the skin, I just let my kids be naked and give them 30 minutes, and then if they really little we do tummy time at that time so probably everything would go down onto the towel

coconut oil and we introduce descants sometimes too just so that it will be

I found the batter to be a bit too
dry, so added a couple tablespoons more butter (I used heavy cream
instead of
coconut milk, so that may be the difference) and another 1/4 cup liquid.
The other has diced apple or pears and

coconut milk and make two mug cakes

Tastes really nice I added

coconut chips, nuts and plantain chips (all of which had no issue with overheating or spoiling.)
