Dried ginger root can cause diarrhea.
To reap the benefits of ginger oil, you can use either fresh or
dried ginger root.
To make ginger powder, you only need a coffee or herb grinder and
the dried ginger root.
Optional flavorings - Either 1.5 teaspoon peppermint leaf, 2 teaspoons fennel seeds that have been crushed with a mortar and pestle, or 1 teaspoon
dried ginger root and 1 teaspoon fresh grated lemon zest
For ease of storage,
dried ginger root is another great option.
Fresh and
dried ginger root seem to be equally beneficial in trials, so here are a few of my favorite uses for getting either (or both) in the diet on a daily basis:

Ginger root is very easy to find in most places both in fresh and
dried (and even pickled and candied) preparations.

Additionally, if your skin is easily irritated, I highly recommend using Mountain Rose Herbs fresh
ginger essential oil over their
ginger essential oil which is extracted from the
dried, rather than a fresh
root and doesn't cause skin irritation.
The most common forms of
ginger supplements are
dried ginger in powder form,
ginger root capsules, and
ginger tablets or pills.
Once
dried, this Asian
root can be steeped to make
ginger tea, pulverized and enclosed in
ginger root capsules, or sprinkled on food.
While this Asian
root is consumed in many forms, one of the most popular ones is
dried ginger.
My current recipe is a handful of
dried hibiscus flowers in 8 cups of water with a penny sized chunk of fresh
ginger root, handful of fresh mint leaves, teaspoon of amla and erythritol to taste (3 tablespoons for me)-- all blended up in a high speed blender and then sipped throughout the day.
While the health benefits of the
root can be fully accessed by eating fresh, raw
ginger, depending on the purpose of consumption, using
dried ginger for cooking, drinking
ginger tea, and taking
ginger extract or syrup can also bring many beneficial
ginger effects.
