MIT's new nanoparticle carries three cancer - fighting

The team has tested its triple threat nanoparticles, containing
drugs typically used to treat ovarian cancer (such as doxorubicin,
cisplatin and camptothecin), against lab - grown ovarian cancer cells.

Medications: Some
drugs, such as organophosphates (in older generation garden products), azathioprine, potassium bromide, L - asparaginase,
cisplatin and thiazide diuretics, have been linked to pancreatitis.
Commonly used
drugs are adriamycin, vincristine, cytoxan and
cisplatin.
The most successful
drugs have been carboplatin and
cisplatin.
CISPLATIN (Platinol) Nausea and vomiting — usually only seen during administration of the
drug or within first 24 - 48 hours, often controlled with medication.
The
drugs administered are
cisplatin, carboplatin, or doxorubicin.
The treatment results are almost identical for the 3
drugs; because
