If your pump parts are not completely
dry out of the dishwasher, set them on a clean paper towel away from a high traffic area until they completely air dry.

The heat and
drying cycles
of your
dishwasher can wear
out the knife's handles and the movement and vibration can cause the edges to hit against the basket and other objects dulling your knives.
I toss in all the associated parts once they come
out of the
dishwasher and the bits can finish
drying together.
After they come
out of the
dishwasher (with the dryer cyle ON) they are set
out on my counter top to
dry completely.
A pet peeve I have is not immediately unloading the
dishwasher when the cycle is completed or folding the laundry as soon as it is
dry: I know we have all known people who «live»
out of their
dishwashers and their dryers... not at my house....
It's always on the counter, with a dishtowel under it (I've found its a LOT easier to keep cleaner then one
of the drainer trays), and I use it for things I handwash (mainly pots and pans), and for stuff that comes
out of the
dishwasher and is still a little wet (towel
drying takes too long).
