To coincide with the opening of Georg Baselitz's exhibition featuring
his drypoint works at the Jan Michalski Foundation in France, we take a brief look at two works available now on FAM.

works with a wide variety of media including acrylics, screenprinting, monotypes, etchings,
drypoint, textiles, papermaking and sewing.
Marco Luccio is well known for his brilliant
drypoint etchings — enormous, bold
works, often of iconic cityscapes and buildings.
Here, there are
drypoints, lithographs and ink
works on display, some like the scroll of paper with a line of punched dots that comes out of a hand - cranked music box, others more like unravelled knitting.
Also on view are several early non-ballpoint
works; an early lithograph Untitled (1979); a
drypoint etching Untitled (1980); two small crayon and oil on paper
works Untitled B (1980) and Untitled R (1980); an acrylic and oil on board Untitled 84 - 6 (1984); and Untitled 82 - A (1982), a stunning example of an early painting drawn with a sharp nail and a precursor to his recent acrylic and oil paintings.
Margaret's
works are
drypoint prints that have been inscribed directly from the model onto perspex plates then printed with chine collé in limited editions.

The Fair celebrates the spectrum of printmaking, from Rembrandt's etchings and
drypoints, Andy Warhol's screenprints and David Hockney's etchings, to the graphic
work of contemporary artists such as Paula Rego and Grayson Perry.
The monoprints are unique
works of art, employing an «encyclopedic» array of processes including direct gravure, spitbite aquatint,
drypoint, woodcut, lithography and silkscreen.
Artists
working in the Crown Point studio bring their unique approaches to the medium, using hard ground etching,
drypoint, sugar lift aquatint, and photogravure to name a few techniques.

Working primarily in series in intaglio mediums such as etching,
drypoint, and aquatint, Samuel has invited artists to create prints in his Santa Monica studio but has also traveled internationally to collaborate with artists in their own studios.
This process can be seen here in three
works on paper — one a charcoal drawing, another a mezzotint, and the third a
drypoint — based on a photograph of the ocean she took fifty years ago from a pier in Venice, California.
She also
works with numerous mediums including pencil, ink, conte, oil pastel, gouache,
drypoint, aquatint, screen prints, woodcuts, and lithography.
All four offered
works by Mary Cassatt found buyers, including the rare circa - 1902
drypoint Crocheting Lessons, which sold for $ 27,500.

This large yet delicate landscape in aquatint and
drypoint is a captivating example of this body of
work.
Currently on view at NMWA in Super Natural, Louise Bourgeois's
drypoint print Hairy Spider depicts a spider, a common motif in the artist's
work.
Amongst these selected
works, one can admire engravings on fabric as well as
drypoints, aquatints, and lithographs on paper that Bourgeois often enhanced with drawings.
For gravitas, John Szoke Gallery from New York has brooding, tenebrous
works on paper by Edvard Munch, including a devastating Death and the Maiden, as well as those web - like linear displays of virtuoso draftsmanship, the Picasso
drypoint series, the best of which is Sculpture, Tete de Marie Therese of 1933.
Packard combines printmaking techniques of
drypoint etching, embossing, and relief with painting staining, and dyeing to create
works of ephemera and contemplation.
