Several state legislatures, including those in Mississippi, Tennessee and New Jersey, are considering increasing financial assistance to students
earning dual enrollment credits.
During the school year, they will be taking EMT courses in high school and will
receive Dual Enrollment credits from Barry University and once they pass the Emergency Medical Technician's exam they can become a licensed EMT and can apply directly to Fire Schools and apply for jobs as Paramedics.
High school graduates who earn Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or
academic dual enrollment credits in the 12th grade are more likely to attend college and complete a degree than students who earn none.
To complement the discussion of the resources, participants will hear from an innovative partnership at a competency - based high school serving overage, under - credited students where they can earn competency -
based dual enrollment credit with a postsecondary partner.
Students have opportunities to
earn dual enrollment credit or associate degrees through partnership with the Abbeville Career Center, Lander Univeristy, and Piedmeont Technical College.

dual enrollment credits, industry credentials, honors diplomas awarded, AP participation rate, AP score (more test scores), IB participate rate, IB score (more tests), College / Career - Ready Assessment (another test?)
