The depth of field effect is used sparingly
during cutscenes and other cinematic moments
making it often look like a pre-rendered
cutscene from movie.
They just dial up LOD and a few other effects
during cutscenes for extra oomph, plus the motion capture animation
makes it look even better.
In the Palace of Shadow,
during the
cutscenes before you fight the Shadow Queen, she will ask you if you want to join her (
make sure you saved before the
cutscenes).
While there is one definitive ending, the choices you
made during the game will affect the
cutscenes you'll encounter as not one play through will be the same.
Other enhancements include reduced Quick Time Events (phew, I can finally
make waffles
during cutscenes without having to fly to my controller) and the return of dismemberment; this means downed foes can still attack and kill you, even without arms or legs, so
make sure you keep slicing and dicing until only torsos remain!
Italy looks beautiful, and you'll be visiting a varied range of locales on your jolly little subterfuge expedition, but what's not beautiful is seeing a nazi stuck running in a chest high wall, or the bad lip syncing on display
during cutscenes that would
make Bruce Lee films look like Oscar - bait.
I also encountered a small number of glitches, one that cut out the sound
during a
cutscene, and another which
made Corvo pause for a few seconds every time he engaged with an object,
making me restart the system.
Sound in the game was done pretty well and I felt that the characters came across as pretty believable when dishing out and receiving damage, however I thought that some of the voice overs
during the
cutscenes were pretty bland and did nothing to
make the story feel more impactful to the viewer.
Voiced once again by Michael Ironside, an older Fisher
makes an appearance
during a specific mission
cutscene.
Trauma Team is a lengthy title that
makes good use of the Wii's controller options, though it does tend to drag on a bit
during story
cutscenes and in some of the slower gameplay modes.
There are now more hidden treasures to be found, map features that have been altered to help
make certain platforming sections flow a bit better, prominent sound effects added
during cinematic
cutscenes, and — most crucially — an endgame gauntlet that significantly expands upon the somewhat abrupt final encounter from the original PC release.
