The deferred repayment plan does not require any payment while a student is enrolled in school at least half - time, nor
during the grace period after leaving school.
Paying in
full during the grace period doesn't give you a break on cash advances or convenience checks, which, unlike purchases, usually begin building up interest immediately.
If no forgiveness plan available would it be best for me to pay my interest
amount during the grace period and set things up to pay the loans with the 10 years plan?
That being said, interest will continue to
accrue during this grace period (unless you have subsidized student loans) so you should begin making payments as soon as possible.
You may consolidate with Direct
Loans during grace periods, once you have entered repayment, or during periods of deferment or forbearance.
