Over-crowded Digital Book Shelves — New
e-books have to compete with the over-crowded digital shelves
of digital books in 2017 that never go
out of inventory.
Since Amazon is now behaving more like a supermarket chain than a book publisher, it would be reasonable for it to lower the price
of the Kindle to $ 50 before the next year is
out and to hold a fire sale on all
of the
e-books in its
inventory, if these steps are what is necessary to maintain and enlarge its market share in the face
of stiff competition.
