an ePub version of your book will not guarantee distribution on 3rd party external e-readers.
They're saying that if you haven't published
an Epub version of your book you could do so now and it would enter you into the drawing for an iPad.

Hi there I am assuming that Vellum create an
ePub 3
version of the
book as it's iPad friendly fortunately I use a Mac and have been doing a lot
of my ebook conversion using InDesign followed by changing code to make it look pretty... however all this takes considerable time I haven't created one yet but before I go the whole hog and purchase I really need to know if it created the latest
ePub i.e 3 etc and create perfect code so I don't keep having to mess with it after validating which takes sometimes hours to do.

For the record, I loaded the
books using the latest
version of calibre and it drops the
epub files directly in the NOOK folder.
JT: And if you have the ability — if you have the ability to sell a PDF, then go and sell the Kindle and
EPUB version on your web site too because PDF will hit a certain market but I prefer, much prefer to read a Kindle
version of a
book on my Kindle than the PDF
version of the
book because
of the thing that you'd mentioned earlier about the text being smaller in the PDF and it being harder to read.

book has to have a different ISBN — so the Hardback's has to be different from the Paperback's which has to be different from the
epub version which has to be different from the Kindle's etc. etc..
Every edition
of a
book has to have a separate ISBN, i.e. an ebook will have a different ISBN from a printed
book, the
ePub version has to have a different number from the Kindle
version etc. (Amazon do not require you to have an ISBN but if you wish your
book to be recognised by your national library you will need one.)
