You also earn XP which ranks up your My Player and you can even
earn free Loot Boxes through this mode as well.

Any progress you make while playing for
free will carry over when you buy the game, so you won't have to leave any of your hard -
earned loot behind.
There's also a bulletin board which grants you new side missions to play through (with more coming
FREE via the PSN down the road), an item shop, and of course a storage building to hold all of your extra
earned looted from battle.
There's a healthy selection of guns to unlock, upgrade and customise as well as basic training skills to unlock too, there's a tonne of cosmetic items to
earn through the game's strong presence of
loot boxes, and there's of course the usual mix of classic multiplayer staples such as Team Deathmatch, Domination,
Free For All and Capture The Flag that join more modern inclusions such as Kill Confirmed and Gridiron, a spin on Advanced Warfare's Uplink mode.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, or PUBG, used to be relatively clean: there were in game
loot - crates that were
free to open and were simply
earned by playing the game and winning / completing matches.
High difficulty (which, again, is up to the player to decide how difficult they want their missions to be in exchange for better
loot and XP) missions will need a much more synergetic approach, so picking a player than can mitigate the enemy's shields and defenses or maybe throw out a stun grenade to
earn some
free hits.
Weapons and weapon attachments can only be
earn via progression and credits can only be obtained by playing or via the
free daily
loot box that is unable to be purchased.
Destiny 2's Bright Engram
loot boxes were filled with enough cool and useful stuff that it felt kind of crummy to ignore them, or to subsist on the paltry few you could
earn for
free.
Some of these changes rolled out with the Crimson Days Valentine's event, which had more opportunities to
earn exclusive stuff for
free than the universally panned Dawning event, and added duplicate protection to
loot boxes.
