earn on a given flight.

However, it is actually really hard to keep track exactly of your earnings as the system is quite unbelievably complicated for Air France in particular: there are different
earning tables for intercontinental, Caribbean and Indian Ocean, European, and domestic
flights — and three different levels of
earning for a
given booking class in Europe depending
on the fare type (that's overall 67 different possibilities for Air France alone).
Base points to complete the challenge, which are
given at a rate of three points per $ 1 spent
on airfare, can be
earned on qualifying JetBlue
flights.
Given the way the
earn tables are structured, there changes tend to effect passengers
on the cheaper tickets
on short haul
flights.
If I'm going to spend hard -
earned miles I'm going to try to redeem them
on the best carriers available (as long as they don't charge ridiculous surcharges) and those that
give me the best
flight options.

gives you very limited choices in Europe, with the bankruptcy of airberlin and alitalia... An even better solution might be to sign up for ANA Mileage Club, as you will be able to redeem for
flights on StarAlliance airlines, like Lufthansa, Swiss, SAS and LOT,
giving you lots of options from Europe!

The JetBlue Card from American Express card is a good air miles credit card option if you're interested in
earning frequent flyer miles that you can use to
earn flights on JetBlue, but it doesn't
give you many of the travel benefits that the best airline miles credit cards provide.
Personally, I'm tempted to start booking
flights through Expedia more often, because not only do you
earn Expedia + Rewards points, but also you get points
on whatever credit card you use for the purchase, the shopping portal you click through to get to Expedia.com (like Chase Ultimate Rewards, which
gives you an extra point per dollar spent), and through Expedia's Business Rewards program that is exclusively for Chase Ink Plus, Bold or Ink Business Cash cardholders.
