Delta is a great place to start when it comes to
earning airline elite status because Delta's co-branded credit cards make earning status achievable even for those who don't fly nearly enough to earn status the traditional way.
These cards are the best cards to spend large amounts of money on if you don't really care about
earning airline elite status, cash back, companion passes, etc. via credit card spending and want to fly in First or Business class and stay in nicer hotels.
Not exact matches
It is similar to other
airline loyalty programs in that you sign up,
earn points and
elite status, and redeem for rewards.
Some
airlines also offer «
elite» programs which provide check - in and boarding priorities, and «affinity» credit cards which
earn mileage credits when you use them for purchases.
This is unique, as most
airline credit cards simply
earn bonus miles and points that do not go toward any type of
elite status.
Chase Ultimate Rewards points
earned with your Chase Sapphire Preferred ® Card can be transferred to 9
elite airline frequent flyer programs and four luxurious hotel loyalty programs, all at a rate of 1:1.
Earning elite status from
airlines and hotels doesn't make sense for everyone.
The Capital One Spark Miles card doesn't offer the opportunity to
earn elite status with any
airline or hotel program.

However, SPG Flights redemptions do have the added advantage of
earning elite qualifying and redeemable miles on most
airlines.
If you have
elite status with another
airline, you can
earn a comparable status with Delta if you fly a certain amount on Delta flights within 90 days.
They won't simply hand over
elite status just because you've
earned it with another
airline.
Base miles
earned and cabin bonuses on Condor count toward Alaska
Airlines elite status.
Frequent Miler proposed the idea of utilizing this benefit to

Alaska bought Virgin America last December, and though have released a few details on how the merger would impact

The best fare I've posted is, admittedly, only available from one US city (that I've found) but it's still a very good fare indeed... especially when you consider the quality of the
airline offering the fare and the number of miles and
elite credits that can be
earned on this booking.
