Washing: I don't think washing gets any
easier than prefolds.
I love gdiapers and think they're a great alternative to disposables and much
easier than prefold cloth.

I purchased a pack of diaper rite
prefolds a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved them.The Thirties covers are by far my favorite cover, my daughter seems so comfortable in them and the velcro closure is much
easier than the snaps for my squirmy baby.
Newborn fitted cloth diapers are
easier and faster to use
than prefolds and flats but you will pay more for that convenience.
Prefolds are smaller
than flats,
easier to fold, and a little thicker in the center.
(It also makes cleaning up messy diapers
easier, since poop sprays off of suedecloth more easily
than it does off of natural fibers) If you plan to use this diaper cover as an all - in - two or cover over flats or
prefolds, you'll be glad to hear that you can buy these liners separately too!
Once they're stuffed, they're
easy to put on (unlike
prefolds, which need folding), but they wash and dry faster
than all - in - ones, and unlike all - in - ones, you can adjust the absorbency for different needs (like adding inserts for nighttime).
If I'm leaving the house, I grab the bumGenius and Grovia diapers I have —
easier to toss in the bag and they store in the diaper bag a bit better
than prefolds + covers.
Fastening a fitted and cover at 2 and 4 am can be a tad
easier than folding a
prefold, using a Snappi and then tucking the edges in a cover.
Two worthwhile pointers for choosing reusable cloth diapers are to look for hook and loop fastenings as these can make the diaper fit a growing baby better, and snap in one varieties or
prefolds with a PUL cover are
easier to dry
than all in ones.
My son just started daycare a few mornings a week, and the center he's at would like
easier diapers
than the
prefolds and covers we typically use.
I think
prefolds seem much
easier to clean
than all - in - ones.
But the diapers will be big for the first 6 weeks on a typical newborn - but since size novice light green are 2 layers less in the center
than the size small yellow edge
prefolds are, it is
easier to fold them down in back so they'll fit on a newborn.
They are much
easier to use
than prefolds but are also more expensive.
