Being a new parent is not
easy, and the
breastfeeding relationship is part of that.
Not only does this encourage and develop the
breastfeeding relationship by providing
easy access, it gives the mother the opportunity to really get to know her newborn — to be able to recognize the subtle cues that tell her that her baby is content, hungry, tired, etc..
They don't — if you can make it through the first six weeks or so, you are well on your way to an
easier and much more acceptable
breastfeeding relationship.
I know it's
easy to give up on nursing when trouble strikes, but it's so true what they say — every baby, and every
breastfeeding relationship, is different.
Breastfeeding will become more of a nurturing than a nourishing
relationship (you and the twins will continue to derive all the health benefits of nursing for as long as you nurse), and you'll find nursing
easier to manage.
Having already
breastfed a child, I knew how wonderful and
easy a good nursing
relationship could be and that definitely gave me a goal during the hardships I faced in the early days.
I have no doubt that bedsharing helps make
breastfeeding easier for many mom - baby pairs, particularly during the first few months, but I don't think it is necessary for a healthy nursing
relationship.
Thanks to
breastfeeding, children have better health,
easier sick days, higher IQ scores and better
relationship with others.
My next baby was
breastfed, up until 18 months we had an
easy, simple
breastfeeding relationship that working full time and caring for 2 other children only complimented, never hindered.
Going back to work and continuing a strong
breastfeeding relationship with baby is so difficult and I think treating myself to a beautiful and perfectly designed bag to meet my needs will help make the transition
easier.
