The canyon is not an
easy dive site and you must be at least
open water advanced or CMAS 2 stars to
dive there.
It is a shallow (10m to 15m deep)
easy reef
dive used for Padi
Open Water Diving Courses as well as for interesting night
dives.
This has to be one of the best
dive sites in Asia for
open water students or those who just like to
dive in
easy conditions a see the stuff of the underwater movies... from two shallow entry points on sandy bottoms the surrounding area is covered in hard coral,, giant table corals, staghorn coral, cabbage coral ans many many many other hard coral species thrive here, around twenty five bommies rise to about 5m which attract colorful fish galore, you can reach a depth of about 20m, but the best stuff is between 5 and 12m making it a perfect second or third
dive of the day.
There are
easy «chill
dives» at 8 - 14m with lots of marine life; good recreational
dives at around 18 - 20m which suit all
Open Water or 1 - star divers; and more challenging explorations for more qualified divers including a
dive down to 30m to see the local gorgonia.
Most of the
dives sites are
easy and suitable for Padi
Open Water divers but exploring the more remote areas on liveaboard is more suitable for experienced divers.
