I don't do layer cakes much either but it's more because of the amount of effort haha - most of the time I just can't help but start eating the cake one it's cooled down (or even straight out of the oven).

Because heart is a muscle it has texture that is much more similar to a steak or any other type of muscle meat that we are more used to eating.

But this was a nice twist that I may even be willing to make on Thanksgiving and definitely will use other times of the year because we eat turkey more than just one day a year here, since we love it.

This one is especially helpful, because I've been trying to cut back on a teeennssyy bit of carbs, so I've been trying to eat more salads... knowing how to mix up my own dressings will definitely help keep things interesting!

That's OK because it means soup season will go a little longer and I get to eat more of this salmon chowder.

I've been making a big effort to eat more raw veggies each day because well I definitely don't follow a raw foods diet I get a biiiiig thumbs up from my body when I eat lots of fresh raw veg.

One of the reasons we hear the advice to eat the rainbow is because plant foods that are really vibrant and colorful really do have more nutrients.

The even greater news is that those little seeds are super good for you (as you've probably heard x100) so if you're missing out on eating them because of the texture thing, you don't have to any more!

It's the type of comfort food that you order at a restaurant, and wish you had an endless supply to eat at home, because it tastes so good and seems super complicated to make (I honestly just had some at a restaurant, and wanted to order 10 more to take home — I didn't, but I wanted too).

This is obviously a personal choice and I'm sure some of you may allow a little more leniency, but this is what I feel works for me and means that I'm still eating healthy for the majority of the week and therefore still feeling happy, healthy and full on energy — as soon as I start eating less healthy more often (which does happen occasionally because, well, life!)

We tend to eat more coconut oil when it's refined and flavorless, because it's so much easier to blend into any kind of dish.
