To a 6 - quart slow cooker add 2, 15oz
cans Mrs. Grimes Black Beans that have been drained and rinsed, 2 chopped bell peppers, 1 — 2 minced jalapeno peppers (1 is mild enough for Cameron to
eat,) 1/2 chopped yellow onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 cup salsa, 2-1/2 cups chicken broth, and herbs and spices including
chili powder, cumin, salt, and dried oregano.
It's not a
chili for those that
can't handle the heat, but it's not going to light your mouth on fire (to me, this means I'll still be able to enjoy
eating it — I
can palette spicy food, but when it comes to a meal I'd really rather just sit back and taste it).

can use to scoop and
eat your
chili.
[For the record, I do plan on bringing the non-perishables with us, so it's not imperative I
eat 6
cans of Amy's
chili in the next week.
Soup and
chili can be such saviors when you're really trying to watch what you
eat.
I am so sad now that I
can not
eat chili peppers.

Chili is the best big - batch food, which means you
can eat it all week long.
I can't
eat chili peppers so regular curry powder is OUT - and turmeric is a very important part of my anti-inflammatory diet.
I get about 2 - 3 kilograms of them, I use about the half to make a really really hot
chili paste that you
can use to pep up sauces or just
eat on bread with some cheese on top.
We don't
eat a lot of meat and also keep a kosher kitchen, so here are my go to's these days: three bean veggie
chili (inspired by whole foods — GREAT leftover food); roast chicken (Ina's); stir fries with tofu or chicken (super into cabbage and you
can get it to taste like moo shoo with the proper sauces); roasted brussel sprouts with barley, cranberries, walnuts, and some goat cheese depending on who you are; grilled chicken (breasts... I know they're not your thing).
If you
can, cook
chili the day before you're going to
eat it.
You
can have the benefits of
eating chili but it isn't like other
chili's.
I think we
can almost all agree that a good Gluten Free White Chicken
Chili is one of the best things we could
eat!
It has been my experience that kids will
eat anything on a stick and again you
can omit the
chili - garlic paste and use a couple cloves of minced garlic instead if you are worried about the spice.
But we also like to
eat it in rice bowl form, with black beans, avocado slices, some fresh cilantro, and even a few pieces of sweet pineapple, and if you
can find some
chili - lime cashews those are pretty great sprinkled over the top too!

eat in about an hour, it tastes even better the next day (so make it the day before you need it!)

eaten straight up out of the bowl.
