Foods containing genetically modified organisms have been on grocery store shelves for decades, with plenty of evidence that eating them is no more dangerous to health than
eating conventional foods, Rachel Ehrenberg concluded in «GMOs under scrutiny» (SN: 2/6/16, p. 22).
Piles of evidence suggest that eating GMOs is no riskier than
eating conventional foods.
Several scientific bodies, including the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the American Medical Association and the World Health Organization, have reviewed the existing evidence and concluded that eating GM foods is no riskier than
eating conventional foods.
Despite numerous studies finding that eating GMOs is no riskier than
eating conventional foods, claims of adverse effects persist.

While organic
food in general is 10 - 40 % more expensive than it's «

foods.
Eat a
conventional diet of fried
food, simple sugar, and virtually no vegetables, and your body won't be getting the basic building blocks it needs for that rebuilding process.
And contrary to
conventional wisdom, don't brush your teeth right after
eating, especially fruit and fermented
foods.
Indeed, research hasn't shown a clear advantage to
eating organic
foods over
conventional, and when compared head to head, both are often shown to be roughly equivalent in terms of nutrition and safety.
First, as you know, the main aspect that most people talk about in the organic vs
conventional food debate is simply whether the
food in question was grown with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or chemical fertilizers, and whether that
food contains pesticide / herbicide residues in or on the actual
food when you
eat it.
In these six months of
eating nutrient dense
food, I have also been able to switch from

Eat LESS of these
foods: fried
foods, trans fats,
conventional dairy, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, factory - farmed meats, processed
foods (especially microwave popcorn, due to chemicals in the bag that disrupt hormones)
Tell your family members that the fat in real
food is actually good for them, and that they're free to
eat lots of it (while the fat in
conventional food is usually bad and best avoided).
That means saying goodbye to
food that comes from factory farms (if you
eat animal products),
conventional produce that is laced with pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and other harmful chemicals like Glyphosate, and choosing
food that is grown and raised in a healthy, happy, sustainable way.
So by
eating conventional produce we may get a tiny bump in cancer risk, but that's more than compensated by the dramatic drop in risk that accompanies whole
food plant consumption.
Let's break it down: DIET:
eating pro-inflammatory
foods like sugar; factory farmed / grain fed meat unnaturally high in the omega 6 fatty acids; refined vegetable oils like canola, corn or soy (read more here);
conventional dairy products; processed
foods; alcohol, smoking, over the counter and recreational drugs; a gluten rich diet of sandwiches, pasta, crackers, baked goods and other refined grain - based
foods.

conventional diet,
eating fast
food and then they would go on a Seven - Day Juice Fast or Juice Cleanse and they think that's a good strategy.
Yet since most of these same experts are stuck in
conventional thinking that says saturated fat is bad for you, they advise against
eating most of the
foods that are richest in essential fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins!
Conventional medicine certainly needs to curtail its prescriptions for antibiotics, but even if you use antibiotics judiciously you're still exposed to great amounts of antibiotics from the
foods you
eat, and this is entirely unnecessary.

eat conventional processed / packaged
foods (other than your bars and yogurt / cottage cheese)?
A
conventional doctor might offer dietary advice including reducing calories, reducing dietary fat, or
eating specific
foods.
You
eat a few handfuls and are full and satisfied instead of
eating and
eating compulsively likely due to all the unlabeled, purposely addictive chemicals that are added to
conventional cereals and snack
foods to encourage consumers to overeat.
pretty hilarious really, as I now find myself
eating what verges on a
conventional health
foods diet, after years of rubbishing that advice!
CW (
conventional wisdom) believes — without a shadow of a doubt — that whole grains are «good» and a
food group that EVERYONE should
eat.
The reason for choosing such diets vary widely and may include fears due to pet
food recalls in recent years, picky appetites of dogs and cats refusing to
eat conventional commercially available diets, ethical beliefs, hot topics in human nutrition and medical necessity.
