I was really excited to to
cook some new things (including gluten free brownies and cauliflower crust pizza — to come on the blog) and on my first post-cleanse grocery trip I added eggs,
tomatoes, bananas, red meat, cheese and a couple kind bars to the fruits, vegetables, nut and coconut milk and salmon and chicken I had been
eating.
So, for the next 14 days, I can
eat only turkey, pork, eggs, sole, tuna, white potatoes,
tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, asparagus, carrots, cauliflower (
cooked), onion, peas, apples, bananas, mangos, grapes / raisins, blueberries, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, coconut, pecans, and peanuts.
Eat more
cooked tomatoes!
I
cooked the basil with the
tomato mixture I'm not
eating bread so use portabello mushrooms instead of bread (I
cooked the mushrooms first a little iwth the
tomato than with the fish in the oven to dry it out a bit).
We
eat spaghetti with «meat sauce» (basically:
cook an onion and some ground beef, drain,
cook some garlic & red pepper flakes in the leftover fat, add a jar or two of
tomato sauce — we like Classico because it's not sweet — toss in parmesan and Italian seasoning, and let it
cook while you boil the noodles) «smashed» chicken (what we call chicken that's been beaten flat with my rolling pin and then
cooked in the cast iron pan on really high heat), and homemade pizza pretty much every week.

Wow, we are seriously on the same page this week — I made rice stuffed
tomatoes on a bed of potatoes on Saturday afternoon, following a years - old recipe I found over on Rachel
Eats, and they were fine, but not great like I wanted them to be — the rice goes soaks in the
tomato sauce first, but doesn't actually get
cooked, so some of it was a little too chewy for me.
One of my favorite ways to
eat cooked spaghetti squash is tossed with a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper and served with a side of avocado and freshly sliced seasonal
tomatoes.

We have learned that by knowing the source of our food, the people who care about that
tomato that we are about to
eat, and what that
tomato taste like in the peak of the season, this is what inspire us to
cook.
Pour the fine green beans and the sweet potato to the pan and
cook it with the rest of the veggies for 5 minutes at high heat, then add the chopped
tomatoes, a cup of
cooked chickpeas, chilli flakes, 1 tsp Himalayan salt, 1/2 tsp ground pepper and the coconut, give it a good stir and
cook until the fine green beans and the sweet potatoes are soft and ready to
eat.
The Hungarians distinguish between those grown for «
eating» (fresh, pickled, or
cooked)-- such as the long, banana - shaped green and yellow peppers and the large, fleshy «

Sun dried
