Well this can be attributed to your weight loss as not only does the state of ketosis inhibit hunger pangs (essentially making you
eat less calories which is why people end up losing weight on this diet) but it also
causes you to lose water weight.
The two main
causes of a «broken» metabolism — severe
calorie restriction and excessive exercise (especially cardio),
cause a negative feedback loop that «requires» you to
eat less and
less and exercise more and more to maintain your pace of weight loss.
If they don't
eat more fat than we need (which is very little, around 10 % of
calories OR
LESS) then their blood sugars are fine, even if they
eat dozens of pieces of fruit per day, and even if they
eat table sugar (which is definitely not healthy... but it will not
cause sustained, elevated blood sugar spikes).
If you
eat too few
calories,
less than 1,000 -
calories a day, your body goes into preservation mode, which
causes a metabolic slow down, which means you burn fewer
calories.

eating prunes will
cause less weight gain than the
calories that they contain would predict, they are still extremely high in sugars, extremely high in
calories, and prunes will
cause weight GAIN, not weight loss.
The bottom line is that if a person has a properly functioning metabolism, and they are
eating less calories than their body requires, no amount of insulin will
cause the permanent storage of fat to occur.

causing you to
eat less or move more, which only supports the idea that
calories count.
