I was just wondering if you had any idea what else may be causing these problems, as it seems to be unrelated to ketosis (since I am no longer
eating VLC).
I am type 2 diabetic and wanted to know if when you say 150gr of carbs for 3 days prior to taking the test you mean a weight of 150 grams or talk about macronutrients, because I ve been
eating vlc for a while now and usually every 100 grams of let's say pasta there is only around 70 grams of carbs, and 100 grams of pasta is A LOT of pasta (pasta is just an example, sorry english is not my first language -LRB-:) so I would need to double that amount and more for a few days..?
This is my understanding: in 20 years you had 4 children and were overweight, and you have recently lost weight and are
eating VLC.
When
I ate a VLC diet I found that hard liquor was extremely satisfying.

If you follow a
VLC, you have to pay close attention to what you
eat, as you may lack certain micronutrients.
I've often wondered if the people claiming to have thyroid (typically low energy) problems on a
VLC simply are not
eating enough?
My doc is telling me to
eat more starch since I've been
VLC for 2 yrs and some of these markers are a bit off.
After years of low - fat, high - carb vegetarianism a slightly alarming FBG (102) led to a pretty long period of
VLC, but likely not ketogenic,
eating.
I currently
eat paleo and still work out 5 - 6 days a week but have been doing
VLC.
I fall into the category of
VLC eating and low body fat maintained for 2 year after 20 years of 4 pregnancies, birthing bringing up children and being overweight by up to 30 kilos more than I am now.
I suspect that maybe I not
eating enough, as I can easily gain while counting calories on a
vlc diet.
Although not necessary, one will always
eat some sugar or sugar forming carbohydrate even on a good very low carbohydrate (
VLC) diet.
I'm fairly certain there are some in the anti-paleo-low-carb crowd who are laughing their asses off at all the resistant starch uproar of late and at all the former LC /
VLC folks rubbing their hands together, while drooling and licking their lips at the new permission they are being given to
eat starchy carbs again (turns out, it's healthy!
Special note: If you have already mastered the Very Low Carbohydrate (
VLC) or ketogenic way of
eating, and / or are
eating at a caloric deficit, exercising or fasting you are naturally creating the optimal conditions for your body to produce ketones and put your body nutritional ketosis.
