Not exact matches
It seems to have a lot of features that I'm just not entirely sure about, and I also think the newer version of Calibre is missing or has changed certain things; for instance, I can't find the option to maintain my

For an
eBook cover, you should purchase 72dpi
size.
In addition to that, some of the original contributors are even generous enough to provide these

Choosing the perfect
size for
ebook images is still an open question given the growing range of screen
sizes, but shrinking to 1000px should ensure that you don't trigger a (historical) bug that crashed a popular mobile reading system by giving it a

You might not believe it, but you should be able to satisfy all major
ebook marketplace requirements for
cover size if you follow two simple rules:

The feature rolled out to paid plans today and lets you create both an

So what you actually see on
ebook readers is that they automatically adjust to display
covers of a variety of

I have 8 versions of my short story anthology's
cover: one thumbnail (60px tall), one small version (144px), four of varying
sizes for others» websites (200px, 210px, 216px, and 423px), the
ebook cover itself (823px), and a 300 dpi version for possible posters and brochures.This is overkill, but you see where having at least a thumbnail, small, medium, and large versions might help.

The overhead of doing this contest every month is pretty heavy already, and we choose this
size carefully to demonstrate how
ebook covers need to distinguish themselves at a smaller
size, while it still allows enough detail to be seen.
But for your
ebook cover, you'll need to crop the document down to the actual
cover size and save as a jpeg.
That way I can crop the front
cover and
size it for Kindle and
eBooks as it will work that way.
Whether you're creating your
cover for print or
ebook, you need a strong design that looks good as a thumbnail and at full
size.
As we default to the Amazon Kindle
ebook version for the
covers, we will quote the
size guidelines that Amazon has set up for that.
The new Kindle app
covers all the necessities of modern
ebook reading — bookmarks, font -
size adjustment — though without any frills.
You need a
cover for your
ebook which looks great in a thumbnail
size, so that it catches attention.

The full colour fantasy art painting does not necessarily work well in the
ebook market, because people see the
cover at a reduced
size and possibly in monochrome.

It is NOT the
size of an
ebook cover.
There is the File
size — how many megabytes big your
ebook cover file is, e.g. 1.35 MB.
Understandably, there isn't a lot of space to work with when designing
eBook covers, but if you can always remember that your
cover will be viewed at thumbnail
size you will be one step closer to
cover design success.
Includes

sized for Amazon, B&N, etc...) and spine and back for the POD

Large image
sizes (i.e. > 2 MB) can actually cause serious lag problems on eReading devices, and it is not necessary to embed the one your
cover designer sends (it is easy for BB
eBooks to downsize using a program like Gimp or Photoshop, so please feel free to send whatever you have).
Well, despite the great art, all that detail — good for posters and print books, to be sure — just doesn't work that well at the small
sizes typical for
ebook covers.
Make sure your
eBook cover image is striking and professional at any
size.
JF: I don't think this works particularly well as an
ebook cover because the artwork doesn't «read» well at a small
size and the entire
cover lacks impact.
Regardless of its virtual
size, your
ebook cover must be attractive and make a great impression on your potential future readers, but also make your brand stand out from the crowd.
