ebook because I believe they're worth less than a paperback for all the reasons I

When I want to add an
ebook into my rotation all I have to
do is cut / paste it into the main

All of these vagaries don't apply to the other major
lists, like the Wall Street Journal
list, which is based strictly on Nielsen Bookscan reporting (estimated to be about 75 - 80 % of the actual market on most general trade titles) and includes
eBooks, without filtering out types of non-fiction.

eBooks that use Amazon's ASIN system, I'd wager a guess that BookScan gets maybe 65 - 70 % of the market.

listed without a print edition existing, and their retail partners
do look for it.
With Sony, Kindle, and the others, you never
do really know what books will be available on the next iteration of their book
lists, they come & they go, even though they say no reason to ever delete an
eBook, it happens all too frequently, so my recommendation is to always make backups.
Don't forget that before agency pricing, big publishers set the
list price of
ebooks and collected about half of that price as a royalty from Amazon on every sale.
You can get a paid
listing if your
ebook does not meet these criteria.
Statistically they don't sell a copious amount of
eBooks, recently leaked investor slides show that in North America they are
listed in the «other» category, which represent less than 4 % of
eBook sales.
You don't have to open up an alphabetical
list of every
eBook currently available on planet earth and start reading the first few pages of each and every one.
The
