all ebooks bought by readers in the UK, which is the biggest ebook market by far in Europe.
US publishers will probably be the second biggest publishers of
ebooks bought by Irish readers (if not the first having overtaken the UK).
With print sales falling by 10 % last year, and book purchasing as a whole down 4 %, ebook sales continue to grow, according to Nielsen's comprehensive tracking of book purchases, up 20 % in the UK in 2013, with 80m
ebooks bought by UK consumers, to a value of # 300m.
This is mostly important because it leads to more
ebooks bought by people who would never buy a dedicated eReader and less
ebooks bought by people who buy the iPad Mini instead of a dedicated eReader.

eReader was
bought by Fictionwise, one of the biggest commercial
ebook sellers, in January 2008, then

I know readers say that now, that they would not try a new debut author at $ 2.99 but this is because there has been
ebooks introduced at $ 0.99 in the first place
