The safest way to see a solar
eclipse is to wear protective
eclipse glasses or
use a pinhole projector you can easily make yourself.
There are only two forms of eye protection you can
use to safely view the
eclipse: ISO 12312 - 2 certified solar
glasses or shade # 14 welding goggles — only the # 14
glass is dark enough.
If the lenses are scratched or the frames damaged on your
eclipse glasses, do not
use them — even a small scratch in the protective film can allow dangerous levels of light to enter your eye.
