Worse still, the
discounted Economy Class fares booked through partners don't earn the 1 EQM / mile flown like they do if they're booked through American — these fares earn just 0.5 EQM / mile flown.
The people really affected will be families traveling on vacation who will now find themselves having to pay more if they want to take their suitcases with them (either in extra bag fees or by paying for

No notable changes to the S7 earnings chart but, like Malaysia Airlines and Royal Jordanian, the
cheapest Economy class fares not only fail to earn EQM but EQD too.
I have
seen economy class fares to some of these destinations for similar prices, and the option to buy miles for a business class award is worth it, in my opinion, to give up the earned miles and status that comes with buying a revenue ticket.
Basic Economy fares are sometimes called «hand baggage only» fares and offer Economy Class passengers a stripped down version of what a regular

Set the ITA Matrix to only search for fares with the «R» booking code — that will stop the search returning thousands

After rolling out a new A380 First Suite and Business Class, increasing the amount of KrisFlyer miles needed for many flights and making StarAlliance award bookings available online, my favorite airline is
changing Economy Class fare categories and the KrisFlyer award miles you earn!
$ 858 is less than is often quoted for a

The idea that redeeming miles for an American Airlines
transatlantic economy class fare isn't a good use of miles also comes from the value that people assign to their balances — generally people like to think they're getting outsized value from their miles and an Economy Class redemption often doesn't give them that.
Norwegian's press release mentions one -

I've been on the look out for good fares since the beginning of August and, while American did post a somewhat

Overall this looks like good news for most travelers — unless you're booking

Despite this I always buy a regular
Economy Class fare rather than a «hand baggage only» fare (HBO fare) because I want to be able to select a seat in the exit row for what is a long flight (for short - haul).
With only 4 systemwide upgrades available per year, from 2017 onwards, buying
discount Economy Class fares with the idea of upgrading them to Business Class won't work for someone who travels as much as I do — especially if I'm traveling with Joanna — so I need to come up with a way to get around this issue.
