I'd probably use seam binding next time, sewing one edge to the
free edge of the fabric and then sewing the other edge to the leg.
When we are ready to staple, the middle section (in the picture above) gets tucked under to conceal the
raw edges of the fabric.
After turning the slipcover right side out and placing it back onto the bench I measured the
bottom edge of the fabric along each side.
I decided to leave the fringe that was on the salvage
edge of fabric as the «finished» edge.
The fabric is brought under your arm pits to the front and twisted and tucked into the
rolled edge of the fabric rather than knotted.
However, you don't want the zipper pull to be too close to the
other edge of your fabric because it will get in the way of your presser foot as you sew the seam closed near the zipper.
The
lower edge of the fabric, scalloped to imitate lace, is decorated by hand with golden and ruby red Swarovski rhinestones in various shapes and sizes.
Hem one
edge of the fabric all the way down then sew together -LCB- right sides in -RCB- one short end so you have a loop.
On the
short edges of the fabric, I wanted a little fatter border, so I folded the fabric in 1/2 ″ and pressed, and then 2 ″ and pressed.
Ombre To get this fashion - forward gradation of colour, pour mixed dye into spray bottle and
spritz edge of fabric intended to be darkest.
6) Repeat to spray the top and
bottom edges of the fabric, fold them over the frame of the shade and press into position (see illustration).
Again, try to hook it closer to the hip and not just to
the edge of the fabric.
In some situations,
the edges of the fabric may be harsh against the baby's skin and could leave some irritation.
Kwik Sew patterns often call for a serger (apparently) as they are often made for knit fabrics, but this pattern only included instructions to overcast stitch
the edge of the fabric to finish it.
A small black tab is attached to

Snip around
the edges of the fabric hanging over the card and then fold it over the edge and glue down.
Use the zigzag stitch on your machine (99 % of sewing machines have a zigzag stitch, even the cheap ones) to c over the raw
edge of the fabric.
Unzip the zipper so that the actual metal zipper pull is lying off
the edge of your fabric.
We each made two bibs, the first we both put biased tape around to finish the edges, but with the second I chose to pink
the edges of our fabric and then trim to vinyl just outside the pinked edges after sewn (don't pink the vinyl or you will end up with a very uncomfortable bib).
It is folded over
the edge of the fabric & sewn.
Using your zipper foot so you can get as close to the teeth of the zipper as possible, sew it to the fabric, keeping the edge of the zipper aligned with
the edge of the fabric.
Do this all the way around
the edges of the fabric, folding the sequins if you are dealing with the cut edge.
I put my mason jar on top, bottom lined up with
the edge of fabric.
All this is doing is folding in
the edges of both fabric pieces so that the edges are clean and no rough ends are exposed.

Step Four: Slide any excess fabric back under so that the raw
edge of the fabric is under the bottom edge of the pattern, and the fold of the fabric under the top edge of the pattern.
Both feet have a guide running through the middle of the foot, allowing the hem to be stitched close to
the edge of the fabric.
I place the hemming ruler matching the raw
edge of my fabric.
Measure the circumference of
the edge of the fabric and cut a length of wire, adding an inch to overlap and secure together.
