Samsung got the whole curved -
edged phone thing started with the Galaxy S6 Edge in 2015.

things that the Pixel 2 XL does better with Oreo and the Note 8 has some cool S - Pen and
edge screen tricks, but iOS 11 on iPhone X is the first
phone in years that feels like it's on the verge of something entirely new.
It's a bit rough around the
edges and requires a powerful
phone to run smoothly, but when it does it's a fantastic
thing.
Lastly, just like the HTC U11, the Pixel 2 has the «Active
Edge» feature to let users do various
things by squeezing the
phone.
The good
thing is that Xiaomi is bringing the trend of
edge - to -
edge displays to its budget
phones and with this one, the company gets it right.
One
thing to note is that the double curved
edges on both devices result in text looking like it wraps slightly around the
phone, which some people may not like.

That's a good
thing, as Samsung's use of the curved
edge is one of the
things that stands it apart from the majority of flat
phones already out there.
The backside of this smartphone design noted above reveals that the side
edges will accommodate popular app and function icons representing
things like a camera, settings, email and more when the
phone is in use.
Systemless root allows you to make modifications to system apps and libraries to enable
things like audio enhancing mods, system - wide ad - blocking, font changing, Google Camera port on the Essential
Phone, Night Light and Camera2 API on the Xiaomi Mi A1, and even allowing for fully customizing the Google Pixel 2's Active
Edge.
The smartphone was well received in the market, mainly due to the fact that it has some interesting features like the new HTCC

Huawei (like others on the fringes) is doing
things different here, housing the
phone on its
edge, flanked by internal boxes containing the cables and legalese.
The
phone brings the thinnest bezels we've ever seen, with the display running practically right up to the
edge on the sides and top, with a larger bezel at the bottom to host

And a few
things stand out to us that could give it an
edge over rivals in the entry - level market — as well as addressing pain points from previous Honor
phones.
The
phone had actually taken over from where the Galaxy S6
Edge had left and when the Galaxy Note 7 was unveiled,
things were even better in terms of design.
When your favorite screen dimming app or that sidebar on your Galaxy S
edge phone changes how it works and you don't like it, blame shitty developers who used an overlay to trick people into clicking

There are three main
things we're looking at here: the presence of those repositioned antenna lines along the
phone's top and bottom

phone will allegedly sport HTC's proprietary face unlock system, and will make use of the second iteration of its side - squeeze feature,

You could argue that straight on it looks far too much like either an iPhone 5, with its chamfered
edges, or a BlackBerry Z10 front on, and you'd have a good point as this
phone doesn't reinvent the rectangle - with - rounded -
edges formula that we're so used to, but in the hand the curved back brings a whole new dimension to
things.
Forcing the curved
edges on me would be about pretty much the only
thing forcing me to consider buying a
phone from a different manufacturer...
Earlier in this review, I wrote that the Galaxy Note
Edge's feature parity with the Note 4 might be the most important
thing about the
phone.
Up on the top
edge you'll find the audio port and the charging port, and if you flip
things over to the back you can find the dual rear cameras in the top left corner alongside the LED flash, as well as the Speaker down in the bottom left corner of the
phone and the Gretel logo at the bottom as well.
