I love the worn looking
edges on the planks, but do you have problems keeping crumbs and dried liquids out of them?

For those who lack upper body strength, place your hands
on the
edge of the bed and your toes
on the floor, leaning in a high
plank position for incline push - ups.
Have a spray bottle of water handy if the
edges catch fire, but smoldering, smoking and charring
on the underside of the
plank is normal.

on just peel the back and stick down, Cut ur
edges with an exacto knife and use the contact paper for ur trim.
Then I grabbed a scrap piece of plywood and started glueing the
planks to it, putting glue
on the back and both
edges.
We wanted our first full - width
plank to go
on the top of the countertop in between the two sink cabinets, so our level line runs along the top
edge of that
plank and because the cabinets were slightly crooked, we used caulk to fill in the gap at the bottom of that
plank where it meets the countertop.
We nail them along the back
edge only so that it's easier to click the next row of
planks into the tongue
on the previously installed row.
When I look at the Hardy
plank boards one of the
edges is smooth while the other
edge has a little bit of a lip
on it.
Well * technically * they wouldn't be able to make shiplap because shiplap, by definition, is a board that has been rabbeted
on the top and bottom
edge so that the boards can overlap, and these boards are waaaay too thin to do that - but wider
planks would give you the look you're after for sure!
After you get home with your
planks, put
on a movie or DIY Network and hand sand all the
edges of the
planks to remove any splinters.
You want your
planks to be nice and smooth
on the
edges.
