So in a post last week, I somewhat casually mentioned the fact the word «vagina» was being
edited out of a draft of my new book, «A Year of Biblical Womanhood,» to be released by Thomas Nelson in October.

Fortunately, I do have a number
of already written first
drafts for stories that I just need to get cleaned up,
edited, and
out there.
With regard to my own work, I tend to write in flurries, spending days and weeks at a time cranking
out a rough
draft, and then following that with many weeks and months
of editing, filling in the gaps, and deepening the text.
Instead
of rushing
out a
draft you aren't proud
of, you'll be able to carefully comb through your essay once our team completes it — and there's still time for final
edits.

edits in longhand.
The truth is this: although first
drafts will be much better after they are professionally
edited, nine
out of ten (or ten
out of ten)
of those manuscripts will remain unpublishable if they have been «
edited» in a vacuum by professionals who have never acquired a manuscript at a Big Five publishing house; never negotiated an author / agent book contract; and never published, marketed and sold a finished book.

You should absolutely have editors at each

of reviewers), and the author responses, will be published when the full copy -

Drafts of the chapters — this will enable people to see what the comments referred to, and how the authors addresses those comments.
By June, 2015, it was clear to me that CGSB intended to put
out for its mandatory public review stage, a
draft standard that had been very improperly created and contained misstatements
of law due to the re-writing
of the legal section because
of CGSB's declared «right
of last
edit,» i.e.,
editing without providing an opportunity for the lawyer - drafters
of the legal section to review the results
of such «last
edit.»
I'm calling it a success — the
draft turned
out to be solid and workable when it was time to
edit, and best
of all, it was finally on paper to work with!
