Over the past several years, states have advanced critical reforms strategies to ensure that every student has access to an education that prepares them for college and career success.

Inside, the reader will find participants» thoughts on how education reformers might address challenges in four distinct areas: 1) allocation and alignment of resources to support standards - based reform and higher expectations for all students, 2) generating resources for the interventions and specialized programs necessary to support the learning of students with special needs, 3) allocating resources to support learning in alternative education settings, and 4) developing funding strategies for dual enrollment programs.

The Laura and John Arnold Foundation is providing nearly $ 3 million to support key education reform strategies outlined for the Cleveland Transformation Alliance and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in Cleveland's Plan for Transforming Schools, the Alliance and CMSD announced today.

Representing a wide range of contexts, theories of action, and strategies (from government - initiated top - down reform to bottom - up change from the grassroots), the presenters this panel will offer insights into the challenges and possibilities for the education sector in the Global South and North America.
