working in middle grades schools (grades 5 - 8) across this country.
Specifically, our
work supports the idea that
effective PD is situated within communities of practice that serve to distribute the cognitive load for understanding and implementing
reform ideas (Garet, Proter, Desimone, Birman, & Yoon, 2001).
